You can’t stop Brooke Burke from sharing photos of her kids! The mom of four loves to post all of the cute things they do on Instagram and chances are, she won’t stop anytime soon.
Brooke, who is a proud mother to her two older kids — Neriah and Sierra — with her first ex-husband, Garth Fisher, and her younger children — Heaven Rain and Shaya — with her second ex-husband, David Charvet, is raising her little ones to be smart.
“I don’t want my children to grow up naive,” she told Us Weekly in 2016. “I want them to be innocent, but not naive, so we talk about everything and I’m so lucky that we have that relationship. I want to have that close relationship, not a friendship. I think that’s dangerous with parenting, but closeness is super important.”
As they got older, Brooke had to have conversations with her children about bullying and social media. The former Dancing With the Stars host wanted them to know it’s “really important” how they respond to another kid getting picked on, so she tries to “role-play” with her kids. But when they’re all at home together, the mom of four makes sure everyone puts down their phones.
“I kind of make the kids take a little tech break too from time to time because life is a picture right now in this generation. We’re so disconnected and socially connected,” Brooke explained. “Everything is a picture and it’s not even a real picture. It’s like a filtered image of what really just happened.”
When her mom friends ask her for advice on taking care of their children, the fitness guru knows just what to say. “Find your own way,” she explained to Us Weekly in another interview. “Everybody’s going to tell you how to do it. Every mom’s out there doing something better than you. And I think we have incredible women’s intuition and we really have to follow that.” Well said.
