Honoring Our Herstory

March is Women’s History Month and I love the idea of acknowledging how far we’ve come, celebrating where we are, and looking forward to what’s ahead!

We are all descendants of Sacagawea, Sojourner Truth, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Harriet Tubman, Susan B. Anthony, Clara Barton, Louisa May Alcott, Amelia Earhardt, Rosa Parks, Sandra Day O’Connor, and Sally Ride! These extraordinary women explored new frontiers, fought inequality, and changed the world for the better. And they didn’t ask for permission!

“Well-behaved women seldom make history.”
Laurel Thatcher Ulrich
Pulitzer Prize Winner (History)

Just as it’s important to understand our history as women, it’s also important to understand our history as a woman. We each bring experiences from our past to our present – some positive, some not. And recognizing and understanding those influences is exactly how we learn, improve, and evolve into our best selves.

The truth is that we are all amazing women capable of doing amazing things. It’s not a matter of “if.” It’s a matter of whether or not we are willing to act on our dreams and desires. I say, let where we’ve been inspire where we’re going!

“If you do what you’ve always done,
you’ll be where you’ve always been.”

If you want to make a difference in your own life and the world around you, invest in your health, fight for what you believe in, and bring a friend along on the journey. Let’s write the next chapter of our histories together!

XOXO,

-Brooke
