The Healing Power Of Love

Valentine’s Day obviously brings to mind thoughts of passion and romance. And that’s great. But not everyone is in an intimate relationship… and not everyone wants to be. I have plenty of friends who are single and loving it!

That’s why I always encourage my consciously uncoupled friends to celebrate Galentine’s (or Palentine’s) Day. The love we share with our besties absolutely deserves to be acknowledged and celebrated, too!

Like romantic relationships, our deepest friendships require commitment, compromise, and communication. We lift each other up and catch each other when we fall. We talk and listen… laugh and cry… and sometimes scream.

In all its many manifestations, love is a powerful emotion that can increase our joy, deepen our compassion, and expand our understanding. These relationships improve our mental health, lower our stress, and give us a sense of belonging and purpose.

Studies have shown they may even help us live longer. So don’t take them for granted!

But remember, there is another type of love that is absolutely essential to our health and happiness: Self-Love.

So be kind. Extend yourself some grace. Appreciate your unique gifts. Honor the journey that brought you to this moment. And show yourself some love.

I promise you, it’s a game changer.
