One of my favorite recipes is this homemade hummus recipe! It is super easy to make and an easy, healthy appetizer to set out on the table with fresh vegetables or pita chips.
- 1 can of garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup of olive oil
- 1 heaping tbsp of tahini
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tbsp water
- 1-2 clove(s) of garlic, depending on your tolerance!
Combine all of your ingredients in a blender or food processor.
Whirl it all together until you have a creamy paste.
Serve with baked whole wheat pita chips, or alongside sliced jicama, carrots, and celery.
